The Telnet Session window is a VT-100 terminal emulator for conducting a Telnet session with your web server. Hopefully, we have designed Rocket Science well enough that you will no longer need to be this low-tech, but just in case...

Telnet Menus

  • File
    Exit Rocket Science
    Terminates the Rocket Science application.

  • Host
    Connect...
Displays the Telnet connection dialog box which allows you to specify the host to which you want to connect, as in "server1.netcom.com". The settings in this dialog are the same as those in the Telnet section of the Application preferences dialog and the Telnet section of the Target preferences dialog. If you have a project file open, Rocket Science will initialize the dialog with the FTP settings from the project file. If not, the FTP settings from the global configuration file will be used.

    Disconnect
Pulls the plug on your current session. You should use this menu item to end your Telnet session rather than typing "BYE", so that Rocket Science doesn't have to figure out on its own whether or not the host is still out there.

  • Window
Allows you to selectively display, go to or hide any of the Rocket Science windows. You set these items up in the Tools section of the Application preferences dialog.

  • Help
    Contents

    About...
Displays Rocket Science product, contact and version information
